New Friends

One of the best things about participating in sports is the opportunity to meet people you may not have met otherwise. Tate met, and became instant friends, with Tyler Richins (TyTy). Tyler said to me today, "I didn't ever try to get Tate out". (They played on different teams) I then asked him if Tate ever got him out and he said, "No because we're fwends".
And that's no lie.

Don't Be A Dictator!

So, Tate had a stellar day yesterday. It all started around noon when we were headed to lunch with Kevin. As we were riding along he blurts out, "Treyson is going to hell because he didn't read this morning." I could have disciplined him if I hadn't been trying really hard not to pee my pants because I was laughing so hard. Kevin was trying to be calm and explain to him that we don't say that, but Tate went off on a R-A-N-T telling everyone what to do and how to do it. Tanner, Ty, and Treyson were dying--I've never heard them laugh so hard. In the middle Tate's rant about what everyone should be doing Kevin says, "Tate, don't be a dictator!", and Tate replies, "You're a dic!!!!". The car erupted in hysterical laughter--
Stellar.
06/06/09--So, after telling my in-laws this story last night it all made sense--We finally figured out that what Tate heard was 'Don't be a dic[k], Tater.' Because we always call him Tater. Duh.
What's sad is that most of you probably figured that out WAY before I did.

Nice Change

Last night we watched Ty's baseball game in jackets, huddled under an umbrella as rain fell. Right now it's 70* and overcast and I'M LOVIN' IT!!! This year we have already had a record broken of consecutive days over 100*, so I'm just going to throw my windows open and enjoy the cool air and yummy smell of rain while it lasts!!

Double Whammy

Today at 11 a.m. my 1st baby graduated from 6th grade and my baby-baby graduated from preschool. Obviously I can't be in two places at once, so I sent Kevin to Tanner's graduation, and I went to Tate's. It's so hard for me to believe that Tanner is headed to Jr. High next year, and that Tate will be going to all-day kindergarten. It's going to be strange to not have my little buddy (a.k.a. My Shadow, Tater, Love Bug, etc.) here to keep me company while "the brothers" are at school!!! Here are a few pictures:

Viewing Party, Anyone???

I've been checking my TV listings like a freak lately because I'm ever so anxious for a couple of "Josh" programs. When I wasn't having any luck finding them, I decided to write a quick email to the lovely employees at channel 8 asking them to please put me out of my misery and let me know when these programs are going to air. Here's the response I got:
Dear Tina,

Eight will air Soundstage “Josh Groban, An Evening in New York City” at 7:00 pm on Sunday, May 31. The program will repeat the same evening at 10:00 pm, and again on Friday, June 5, at 11:30 pm.
(this is the same concert that I was lucky enough to attend in NYC last April...you can read about it here)
The program Great Performances “Chess in Concert” will air on Wednesday, June 17, at 9:00 pm. It is scheduled to repeat early in the morning on Sunday, July 12, at 2:30 am.

Thank you for your interest and for watching Eight.

Sincerely,

Kim

If You Needed Proof That I'm Crazy...Here It Is...

So, last week I had 9 baseball games, 2 softball games, a book club birthday lunch, "Muffins With Mom", "State Fair", and a funeral, in addition to all of the "usual stuff", so I don't know what I was thinking when I decided that my boy's baseball teams needed baseball cookies!!! On top of that I made 2 cookie bouquets for my friend's birthday lunch.

Six batches of sugar cookie dough and 3 batches of royal icing later, this is what I ended up with:

See, I told you I was crazy!!!

"State Fair"

On the same day as "Muffins With Mom" with Treyson's class, was Ty's "State Fair". He worked very hard on his State Fair project which was a presentation on a state of his choosing. Ty chose New Mexico, and had a lot of fun making his poster, and finding information about his state. He put a ton of effort into it and I think it really paid off!! Great work, Ty!!!

Muffins With Mom

Last week Treyson invited me to his class for their annual "Muffins With Mom". He was so darn cute and was all smiles when I walked into his classroom. He had made me a cute necklace, a sweet book , and a bookmark. The class sang 3 songs, and Mrs. Cichon read a book about moms to us all. It was so fun sharing a muffin with my sweet Trey. I am so lucky to be his mom!!

Trey with Mrs. Cichon. He absolutely loves her!!! Trey's student teacher. I'd type her name, but I can't remember how to spell it. (Crnjks, or something like that!!!) You say it like this: Mrs. Sin Yachts He loves her, too!!

Today

I am thankful for Air Conditioning.

After sitting at baseball games in 105* heat since 9 am, I just had to post about how very, very thankful I am for central air. I don't care how much it costs. It's worth it.

Look Who's 5!!!

My Tater Bug had his "golden birthday" on the 5th, but we celebrated on the evening of the 4th because we had lots of baseball games on his actual birthday. Grandma and Grandpa H were here and got to celebrate with us. Tate requested pepperoni pizza, chocolate cake with chocolate icing, and decorations....and he wanted a Nerf Wii game. He's not demanding at all..(wink, wink).
As it turns out, he got everything he wanted and even a couple things he didn't know he wanted. ;) Here's a few pictures: A fun and yummy gift from the StecksAunt Trisha and Aunt Katherine sent some birthday money. Tate spent it on another Nerf gun.The decorations and cake

Father and Sons Camp Out 2009

Our ward's annual father and sons camp out was this last weekend. Here are a few pictures:
The Camp Sleepy Tater Bug The boys (including the biggest boy--Kev) decided to sabotage the Bishop's tent

Treyson and Ty trying to keep warm around the fire
Tanner didn't go this year because he had a 9 a.m. game on Saturday morning. I have to admit that it was a lot of fun to have him all to myself. That doesn't happen very often!!
Everyone had a great time!
