Last Saturday we took the kids to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I have been looking forward to this movie since the last movie came out..so have the kids! Trey was especially excited that it was rated PG because that meant that he wouldn't have to wait for Kevin and I to see it before he could. We got to the theater, settled into our seats, and waited anxiously for the movie to begin. We watched intently, and left feeling like it was o.k.
OK???
Harry Potter movies, up to this point, have been excellent...in my opinion...full of adventure and excitement. This movie, however, was seriously lacking in both adventure and excitement.
I came home and immediately started re-reading the book. The more I read, the more bummed out I got. I can't believe how much info was left out of the movie. I hate that it didn't go into who Voldemort was, or how he came to be. I hate that it didn't go into all of the memories that Harry saw in the Pensieve when he was being "trained" by Dumbledore. It didn't hardly mention how Dumbledore injured his hand trying to destroy one of the Horcrux.
It seems to me that when you have millions of Harry Potter lovers worldwide you would put every effort into producing a movie that would satisfy every fan, while preserving the integrity of the books...especially when it's obvious that money was not an issue.
I hope that the producers put more than a half effort into Deathly Hallows!
I also gushed over my brand-spankin'-new-beautiful-and-shiny microwave
I guess that I needed to learn a lesson because my DVR AND my MICROWAVE decided to bite it this week. The lesson I needed to learn could have been one of many:
Celebrated the 4th of July at the Freedom Festival in Provo, Utah.
Supported the beautiful Miss Kadryn, as she prepared to ride the float as Little Miss Lindon in the Freedom Festival Grand Parade.
Enjoyed a sunny day with Uncle Bevan and Aunt Donna at Slide Rock in Alpine, Utah.
Spent a day with Grandma and Grandpa at the Zoo while the older boys were at baseball camp.
Rode 4 wheelers at Uncle Bevan and Aunt Donna's house.
Pulled lots and lots of pranks on Grandma and Grandpa.
Hung out with all of our cousins...including the cousins from Massachusetts!!
Chased Grandma's chickens around the yard, while trying to avoid the poop.
