Freshman Fall Ball

There's nothing like watching a ball game on a Saturday morning at 9 a.m. when it's already 102*.
When it ended it was 115*.
I am so excited for some cooler temps!!

August

Why It Stinks To Be In Arizona In August...
...and I could mean that quite literally.

This has been the message on the news for the past week.
Umm...DUH!!!
Do they think we're stupid??
This forecast is actually mild compared to this past week.  On Tuesday the thermometer in my car, in my garage, read 123*.
That's HOT!!
I'm ready for some cooler temps!!!
However, the snowbirds can stay home this year!!
Well...except you, mom and dad.
You can come.

Gadget Girl

Those of you who read my blog know how much I L-O-V-E gadgets!  Well, recently I've purchased a few and thought I'd better share.
While in Utah I purchased this beauty
I love it!  I really do.  I'm not kidding.
They boys love to cook their corn dogs in it because it's not as scary as the "big oven", and it makes the corn crispy instead of soft (like in the microwave.).  I love that it doesn't heat up the entire kitchen, like the oven does.
SCORE!!!

The next gadget is this baby
The sad thing about this is that my kids asked me what it was.
And, Kevin keeps asking me if I know what year it is.
I think that he thinks I've warped back to the '70's.
Maybe I have.
So what??
I, however, am thrilled that I don't have to wrestle with a piece-of-garbage-does-not-work-hand cranked can opener any longer.  Seriously, I think I've spent $50 trying to find a hand held can opener that actually works, and then have to replace them because they break.  Bleh!!  We'll see how this goes.

This little beauty used to be my favorite gadget, until yesterday, when it was replace by my new favorite.  Here it is...do you know what it is??
It's a carpet rake!!!
I love it!  It perks up my matted down carpet, while removing all of the gross stuff that gets caught down deep.  I am so glad my gal Tiffany told me about this!!  I just rake and vacuum and the carpet looks soooooooo much better...especially on my stairs!

The next gadget on my list is this:
My microfiber duster!!!  It picks up, and holds all of the dust.  It doesn't just swish it around.  When it's dirty I just throw it into the wash and BAM, it's ready to go again!!  Woo Hoo!!

OK, now brace yourselves.  Here is my new FAVORITE gadget...
I got it yesterday at Wally World, and it brings joy to my soul.
Drum roll, please...........................................................................

It is the Shark Professional Pocket Steam Mop!!!  (Say that 10 times fast!)
I mopped my tile with it yesterday and it looks so good!!  I also used the hand attachment to clean my wood blinds and my bathrooms.  The steam gets into nooks and crannies and makes all that nasty filthiness come out, and then you just wipe it away.  The hot steam kills germs and odors and you don't have to use any chemicals.  Love, love, love, love, LOVE!!  They should hire me to be their spokesperson.  hee hee hee

Anyway...I'm in gadget heaven right now.
Sadly I have to go to Costco.
I'm hoping it won't kill my vibes.
Peace!
 (Oh, wait...that's the 60's...)

I've Been...

My mom left me a message on my cell phone yesterday that said two things.
1.  You haven't updated your blog lately.
and
2.  Call me.
So...I've been...
Repairing...
...only to find out that I didn't have a tool needed to fix what I needed to fix.  And, yes, I'm doing it in the house because it was 113* in my garage.  I'm not exaggerating.

Redecorating...
...my bedroom...
I found this comforter set for a fantastic price and just went with it.  New curtains, lamp shades, and decorative pillows finished off the look.

And...I'm recuperating from a whirlwind summer.
It doesn't help that I have a ton of extra time to sit around and think of all of the things I want to do to/in the house.

School 2011

It was a crazy day!  Tanner left for school at 6:15 a.m.
I didn't get a photo...
Shocking.
He was pretty nervous, but when he got home he said it was a good day.
Ty started Jr High this year.  He was nervous, too.  He left around 6:45 a.m...
I guess he thought he might not make it in time.
I mean, school starts at 7:40, and he had to walk all the way across the street and about 1/4 mile east.
He had a great day!
Treyson was up at 5 a.m. because he was so excited!  I went in his room at around 5:30.  He was showered, dressed, had made his bed, and was sitting on it because Tanner had told him that he got up too early and to go back to his room.
Thank goodness we have Tanner around to keep things in order!
He wasn't nervous at all, and was excited to learn that a few of his favorite people were in his class.  Of course this includes a darling female friend, whom I won't mention because it would embarrass him too much...
Tate also woke up at 5 a.m. and did everything that Treyson did because that's how he rolls.
He was as ornery as a bear, though, and made life pretty un'bear'able for everyone around him until it was finally time to go to school.
He changed his shirt 5 times, and his socks at least 3 times because they were either too big, too small, or too bunchy.
Oh, and his glasses were too tight and he didn't want to brush his teeth.
He opted for the oldest and ugliest shirt he has in his drawer, which I'll also point out, has a huge hole in the front.
I was sick of fighting with him, so I let him go looking like a homeless, motherless child.
I can't imagine what his teacher thinks.
All in all, they had a pretty okay day.
They were exhausted.
 I was exhausted.
Should be an exciting year!

Back To School Night

Busy, busy day!
I started out at the bank to get some school sports paperwork notarized, and then I took Tanner to get a hair cut.  We waited for at least an hour...I guess everyone else had the same idea as us...haircuts before school starts!!
After we finished we headed to the junior high to pick up Ty's schedule, since we were out of town when he was supposed to pick it up.
At 2:00, Tate had a follow up appointment for his arm.  Dr. Udall said that everything looked good, and that he should continue to get more range of movement over time.
We braved the crowd and went to meet the little boys' teachers tonight at 5:30.
We also braved the heat seeing as though it was 108* outside and felt as hot inside since the A/C wasn't working.
Treyson has Miss Moe for 4th grade and he (we're) super excited about it!  She's an awesome teacher!!
Tate has Mrs. King for 2nd grade.  Treyson had her and I'm really happy about Tate having her too!
It will be nice to be back in a schedule again, once school starts on Wednesday!!

Dear Friend...

...it's been a l-o-n-g three days since you've been gone.  I miss you.
I've had a constant headache, even though your replacement is very similar.  You have been my constant companion for the past 15 years and life will sure not be the same now that you're gone.
I am happy, though, to finally be able to let you go.  I don't need all the extra luggage you've caused in my life--and on my body.  So, this is it...farewell dear friend...I'll sure miss you!
Hello,  new friend...
Love,
Tina

Utah: Day 18

Today my dad took the boys to hike Stewart Falls, only to find out that the trail to Stewart Falls was washed out from all of the melting snow.
Stewart Falls by Jack Binch ©Jack Binch (10 Jun 2007)
They went to the lodge at Sundance where Grandpa bought them a sucker and took them for a ride around the Alpine Loop.  He tried to get them to let him stop at Cascade Springs, but they didn't want to, so he just drove on.  Party poopers!!!
Mom and I went to Target, Costco, and Smiths.  Super exciting, right??!!  I got all of the kid's school supplies, so I wouldn't have to worry about it when I get home.  Kevin had a phone meeting and had to take his dad to the doctor, so he was busy with that most of the day.
We had dinner at FONG's Diner...one of my kids favorite places to eat in Utah.
Me?  Well, I'll pass, thank you.
Tate doesn't like it either.

We finished out the day at Michelle's to sing "Happy Birthday" to J.J.

Utah: Day 17

Today, Kevin took the boys to see this:
I stayed home to do laundry...and was happy to NOT be at the movie.
Can you say STUPID???
The boys loved it, of course.
We went to Michelle's for dinner and visiting.
