Easter Activities

For the first time in I don't know how many years we colored our Easter eggs before 10 p.m. Saturday night...in fact, we did them Saturday morning!! And, I actually boiled the eggs on Friday night, so I was WAY prepared this year!!! :)
On Sunday morning the boys were up EXTRA early (5:15 a.m. to be exact) anxiously awaiting our annual Easter Egg Hunt in the back yard. It kinda makes me laugh that they look forward to this because the Easter Bunny usually runs out of places to hide the eggs (or he just gets tired of trying to find places to hide them...or he's just tired--it is usually around 5 a.m.), so they just end up lying all over the grass--completely exposed and un-hidden. But, they love it so the Easter Bunny continues to "hide" the eggs every year.

After the hunt we ate hard boiled eggs and LOTS of candy. It was a nutritious and delicious breakfast. We followed that up a few hours later with a lunch of hard boiled eggs and some more candy. Very healthful. By the time we went to church the boys were on a sugar high like you've never seen before. Unfortunately the sugar doesn't make them nice. It just makes them ornery and irritable...or maybe it was the insanely early hour they decided to wake...

This year, instead of the usual "church attire" that the Easter Bunny usually brings, he brought them each a new t-shirt and a pair of plaid shorts that they can wear to school. The bunny also brought a few new movies.

We had a delicious Honey Baked Ham for dinner, accompanied by rice casserole and home made rolls. I was able to sneak some healthy broccoli and cauliflower on the boys dinner plates, and amazingly most of it was consumed.
Whew!!
