I always know when it's been too long since my last post when my mom emails me to see if I'm still alive and kicking! I honestly don't know where the time has gone, other than we've just been super busy. I'll try to re-cap our month in a short post.
Ty and Treyson both "made it" into the high jump competition at school. I am not sure what "making it" required, but I got to go to the school to watch them jump. Ty's teacher got a great photo of him, but all of the photos I took were blurry. So...I only have this photo of Ty and none of Treyson. They both did awesome! Treyson's buddy, Keaton, won for the 2nd graders, and I'm not sure who won the 6th grade category, because I left after Ty got out.
Ty also did an awesome Science Project this month. He called it "Naked Egg".
He did a great job on it, and I think he even ENJOYED doing it...which is an amazing feat for Ty!!
You may remember when Kevin's employees reached a completely unrealistic goal and shaved his head?? If not, you can find it here.
Well, his team at Everest University Online did it this time...but luckily this time it wasn't as drastic.
Just a pie in the face.
No big deal.
Tanner finished up his 8th grade baseball season with his team taking 2nd place in their division. He played great, as did his team, but they ran out of coaching--or never had any coaching--and ended up losing the championship game by 1 run. He is gearing up for High School Summer Ball and can't wait to get playing again!!
We had Little League Closing Ceremonies on Saturday.
It was hot, and long, and I was happy when it ended.
Ty's team played at 11 a.m. to cinch a spot in the Championship game that will be played on Tuesday (May 24th) against the Dodgers. The Dodgers win EVERY year, so we're hoping that the ASTROS can pull off a HUGE upset and head to the District 14 Tournament of Champions!!
Go Astros!!
Treyson's team played last Thursday night in the Minor Division semi-finals, but lost. They played their guts out, but just couldn't win it. Unfortunately, Treyson was the last out of the game. (You may remember when this happened to Tanner a few years back) He hit a BOMB (for Trey) to right/center field and a boy on the other team made an incredible catch to save the game for their team. Treyson was upset, but excited for his friend (Patrick H.) who was on the other team. He is such a good sport, and always shows and incredible amount of sportsmanship. I was so proud of the way he congratulated the other team, even though he was really choking back the tears. He is a gem, and I'm so glad he's my boy!
School ends on Thursday of this week. It's definitely a bittersweet day for me. I'm sad that the year is over, which means that my boys are getting older, which, in turn, means I'M getting older. But, I'm happy because I get my boys to myself ALL SUMMER!
Treyson and Ty are both going to try out for All Stars, which happens in June. Tanner and Ty start Summer Ball with the High School on the 1st. Treyson and Tate both have baseball camps in June for a week, and then we'll be doing All Stars (hopefully). I'm hoping July offers some "down time" for us to be able to go to Utah to spend time with our loved ones...
Whew!!
I guess time will tell!
