I bet you can't guess what I've been doing all summer...
Personally, I love it...even though I feel like this most of the time!!!
Tanner tried out for, and made, the Freshman summer team for the High School, which kept him really, really busy. His day started at about 5:30 a.m. with weight training, combined with speed and agility training. That was followed by Academy (hitting, catching, etc), and then on Tuesday's and Thursday's he had 9 a.m. games against other schools with summer ball programs. They played against Highland, Perry, Gilbert, Williams Field, Campo Verde, and Casa Grande High School. They had a really good team and won most of their games!
On top of playing Freshman ball, he also tried out for, and made, the Juniors All Star Team for Desert Ridge Little League...but I'll get to that in a minute...
Here's a photo from the game at Casa Grande. It's the only photo I have of him playing Freshman ball, because every time I pull the camera out he gives me really crusty looks. It's scary.
Grandpa L was being silly at one of Tanner's games...I love that I got this photo of him!!!
Ty's All Star tournament started on June 18th, and was pretty short lived...unfortunately...
They had a good team, but struggled to win games. It was a "pool play" tournament, which guaranteed them 3 games. They lost the first two, and won the third. It's too bad that they couldn't have gone further, but Ty didn't seem too bothered by it. He had an INCREDIBLE tournament!! He felt really good about the way he played, and he should have...he did great!

Now, back to Tanner's All Star experience..
His tournament started on June 29th. It's a double elimination tournament, and with the way the first game went, we were sure we'd be two games and DONE!! Our pitcher fell apart, to put it mildly. He hit and walked more batters than I care to remember, and we got beat! But, the second and third games have proven to be a lot better, the boys are playing well, and we've won! We're still in it, and the boys are hoping to represent Arizona at the State tournament in Tucson!! I guess we'll see...
Yes, these are photos of Tanner...they both chose the number 5...same as their pop's H.S. and college number!!!
What a joke.
Lesson learned...never buy tickets above the opposing team's dug out...especially if it's the DODGERS!!!
This is us, smiling, before all of the Dodger fans showed up...little did we know!!!
You can see "sombrero man" in the background. That should have been an indication...
So, I guess that's it...I'm caught up. Tanner goes to scout camp next week, unless his team wins their division. I'm sure that will give me more to blog about.

What a great lookin' bunch of guys, and beautiful you too! Thanks for sharing your "happenings" as your family grows. I remember when Tanner was born, and now he is playing freshman ball?! You are a great mom and an awesome example! Thanks ;)
