Disaster!

I know why I wasn't born during the time of the pioneers. I never would have survived. I would have parked my butt in Nauvoo and said, "No way...no how". I love the modern comforts I have. I openly express my love for my DVR daily. I also gushed over my brand-spankin'-new-beautiful-and-shiny microwave here. I guess that I needed to learn a lesson because my DVR AND my MICROWAVE decided to bite it this week. The lesson I needed to learn could have been one of many:
1. There was life before microwaves and DVR's.
2. People used to cook their fresh kill, or catch, over an open flame, outdoors, without shelter, and they survived just fine. In fact, I think my dad and brothers do this by choice, quite often on weekends.
3. T.V. used to be black and white and there were only, like, 4 channels...if you were lucky...or a master at attaching tin foil to the bunny-ear antenna.
4. The entire last season of LOST will be available on DVD soon, so there really is no reason to have ALL of them recorded.
5. Josh Groban is alive and still making beautiful music. Most appearances can be accessed through YouTube, or on DVD, and even though I had two years of his T.V. appearances recorded, life will go on. Maybe.
6. I needed to get "back to basics". It's pretty pathetic that I have no idea how to warm up left-overs without a microwave.
7. I'm blessed, and just needed a teensy-tiny reminder that even without my DVR and Microwave I have 4 beautiful boys and a hubby that loves me--and they're way more important than anything else.

Yep. Lessons to learn.

be strong I feel your pain. To lose both in the same time, is tragic.
