Well, Tanner left this afternoon for his first overnight camp-out with the 11 year old scouts. It's all he's been talking about since he turned 11 in November. I had to take some pictures of his pack, because, honestly, I have no idea how he's going to hike with it on. It is a big as he is, and looks like it weighs nearly as much. He was really ticked that I was taking his picture, and told me that I'd better not put it on my blog, but he's only 11 and I'm the mom, and I can put anything I want on my blog, right???!!! (Notice how I used the, "I'm the Mom" excuse...I swore I'd never do that... ha ha)
We weighed Tanner before he put the pack on. He was 84 lbs. So that means the pack weighed a whopping 30 1/2 lbs. Poor guy! He's going to be soooooo tired tonight!!!
This is a picture with our darling next door neighbor, Duncan. His pack is as big as Tanner's, but he's also quite a bit bigger than Tanner...I'll post an update tomorrow when he gets home. He may never want to go on a overnight hike again!!!!
